Nepal-India security officials meet

Birgunj: A joint meeting of the security officials of Nepal and India was held here Thursday considering the local elections to be held in eight districts of province no. 2 on September 18.

An agreement was reached at the meeting chaired by acting CDO of Parsa Durga Dutta Poudel to maintain high alert on the bordering region, check criminal activities and share information between the security officials of the two countries considering the elections in Nepal. The border transit point will be sealed 72 hours prior to the beginning of the voting.

CDOs of Parsa, Bara and Rautahat and representatives of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department were present on behalf of Nepal while the Indian side was represented by District Magistrate of eastern Champaran Raman Kumar and of western Champaran Yagya P Deware.
